Join us as we learn how to take our picture book manuscripts from words on a page to words across 32 pages! Transforming your written manuscripts into a picture book dummy is a fantastic way to make your writing publication ready. Come ready to streamline your text and incorporate the power of page turns!
Materials:
- Bring a printed copy of your picture book manuscript
OR
- Select a published picture book and type out all the text, one sentence per line, without indicating page breaks
- Tape, paper and scissors will be provided for making dummies
Gentle Critique info:
The meeting will be preceded by a Gentle Critique session from 9:30-10am. If you’d like to share your work in progress with others and receive or provide feedback, please bring printed copies of up to 5 pages of a manuscript to share. Zoom participants will be allowed to screen share in order to receive feedback. As usual, our meetings are free and open to the public. We encourage you to invite members of the Brazos Valley writing community to join us!
