Date(s) - 08/24/2022
9:30 am - 11:30 am

Brazos Valley Arts Council
4180 Hwy 6 - College Station, Texas 77845

Come learn how SCBWI can help you develop, launch and sustain a career in children’s literature. Whether you’re an illustrator, writer, editor, translator or don’t even know yet, we have great information and resources to share. Current and lapsed members will learn about benefits and resources you may not be aware of. You will not be pressured to join SCBWI during this meeting.

The meeting will be preceeded by a Gentle Critique session from 9:30-10am. If you’d like to share your work in progress with others and receive or provide feedback, please bring printed copies of up to 5 pages of a manuscript to share. Zoom participants will be allowed to screen share in order to receive feedback. Please see this handy guide on critique etiquette if this will be your first time participating in a critique:

As usual, our meetings are free and open to the public. We encourage you to invite members of the Brazos Valley writing community to join us! Attendees are welcome to join us via Zoom as well. SCBWI members will automatically receive login information via email, non-members can register for free on the event page. A replay will be provided to all SCBWI members and registered guests and will also be posted on the Members Only SCBWI Brazos Valley private Facebook group (join here:

We strongly encourage attendees to wear masks during our in-person meetings for the safety of our members and the wider community.
