April Meeting – From YA novels to Poetry Magazine with Ari Tison

April Brazos Valley SCBWI meeting with poet Ari Tison, April 24th, 10-11amJoin us in celebrating National Poetry Month with award-winning poet Ari Tison. Ari will discuss her upcoming debut YA novel, SAINTS OF THE HOUSEHOLD (a combination of verse and vignettes), as well as her experience participating in POETRY Magazine´s first ever edition to feature poetry for children-young adult. Ari will also lead a mini-craft session with a prompt followed by time for audience questions.

About Ari Tison:

Ari Tison is a Bribri (Indigenous Costa Rican) American poet, essayist, educator, autoethnographer, and author of YA hybrid novel Saints of The Household (2023) + Untitled YA (TBD) with FSG Books for Young Readers at Macmillan. Her poetry and essays have been published in Rock & Sling, Yellow Medicine, The Under Review, and most recently in POETRY‘s first issue for young people. She has her MFAC for Hamline University and teaches creative writing at the Loft Literary Center and North Central University in the Twin Cities, Minnesota.
